Coping with Cancer works with local solicitors who will be able to advise you on various legal issues including: relationship difficulties, work related issues, and wills. Our solicitor's surgery is on an appointment only basis. General free legal advice may be given in person or over the phone. If further specific advice or legal work is required, that is not part of the solicitor's surgery although you will be able to seek such assistance on a fee paying private basis from the solicitor involved or any other solicitor of your choosing, outside of the scope of surgery.
Our befriending service can provide people with the opportunity to have 1:1 support by a trained volunteer in the comfort of their own home. A befriender can provide a listening ear to talk through concerns and issues, or accompany you to the shops. Our befriender's can allow a carer to take a valuable break from their caring role, and if you are particularly isolated, can help alleviate any feelings of loneliness you may be experiencing. This service is time limited and assessed on a case by case basis.
