The Men’s Shed is an exciting new project from Coping with Cancer, based at the Rowley Fields Allotment site on Meredith Road in Leicester.
The aim of the project is to provide a place for men affected by cancer to meet, socialise, learn new skills and generally ‘put the world to rights over a cup of tea.’
We have an allotment plot and some raised beds, as well as use of the community pavilion and nature area at the site. There are tasks on offer to suit all levels of ability and fitness, from easy weeding and planting to hard core muck shovelling and compost turning!
No prior experience of gardening is required, as our friendly volunteers will be on hand to provide help with gardening and a listening ear. There is a fully accessible toilet onsite, parking close by, and of course we have our own shed to meet up and have a cuppa!

The Men’s Shed is open to all men affected by cancer – whether you’re the patient, relative or carer of someone with cancer, you’ll be very welcome.
The Men’s Shed will be opening on Thursday 3rd May 2012 and will be open from 10.00am until 3.00pm every Thursday.
