Practical and emotional support for anyone affected by cancer

Our history

Coping with Cancer began in 1981 as a simple self-help group, meeting in people's homes to provide support to those affected by a cancer diagnosis.

As more people got involved with the group, activities and services began and a small number of staff were employed to take care of running the growing organisation.

Response to the services was overwhelming, resulting in 1999 to a move to our current premises, Helen Webb House. The House was funded by the Helen Webb Memorial Trust, in memory of Helen Webb, a local cancer patient.

In 2011, we celebrate our 30th Anniversary Year.
