Charity of the Year Case Study: Woodlands Garden Centre
Staff at Woodlands Nursery & Garden Centre, near Hinckley in Leicestershire selected Coping with Cancer in Leicestershire and Rutland as one of their two local charities to support for 2010. Woodlands, which is located just outside Hinckley in Leicestershire, occupies 18 acres of grounds and is staffed by more than 150 knowledgeable members of staff. The garden centre
started as a nursery in 1978, growing bedding plants and tomatoes. The garden centre was launched in 2002.
During their year of supporting us, Woodlands staff raised funds and supported Coping with Cancer staff to fundraise too, in a variety of ways, from helping organise can collections to staff undertaking a sponsored walk. Woodlands staff and Coping with Cancer staff and volunteers also organised a whole Summer weekend of activities which boosted our fundraising total.
Overall, £4426.49 was raised during the year. Click here to download an overview of our fundraising year with Woodlands.
