Our befriending service provides patients and carers with the opportunity of accessing social and emotional support in the comfort of their own home.
Available to those currently undergoing treatment for cancer and/or their carers, a member of staff or trained volunteer will arrange to visit on regular occasions and provide a 'listening ear' for any issues or concerns you may have during your cancer journey.
For those patients who live on their own, are particularly isolated and are unable to access support services in the community, befrienders can assist in alleviating some of the isolation you may be feeling and discuss any concerns you may have.
We are unable to provide a 'sitting service' for carers, but are able to provide befriending support to carers, allowing you to discuss any concerns or receive emotional support.
