2011 Leicestershire Santa Fun Runs
Published on 10/01/2012
Coping with Cancer in Leicestershire and Rutland was delighted to have been chosen as one of the selected charities for the 2011 Great Lutterworth Santa Fun Run, which took place on Sunday 27th November. Nearly 1,000 Santas took part on the day and despite the wind and chilly conditions there was a great turn-out from Coping with Cancer supporters including our Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Thorp, running with her niece Roisin and Charlie the dog, CWC volunteer therapist Lynn and her family, plus Mark Neville, Darren Wright and family.
For more information, visit the Lutterworth Mail's website.
Our thanks go to everyone who took part and the Rotary Club of Lutterworth and Rotary Club of Lutterworth Wycliffe for choosing to support Coping with Cancer. Full details of the amounts raised by all the runners will be announced via their website soon, and of course we will let you know how much Coping with Cancer receives as soon as possible.
Across the other side of the county, the Great Loughborough Santa Fun Run took place on Sunday 4th December. Coping with Cancer’s team of Santas included four of the charity’s trustees, Kalv, Lynn, Anne and Crystal, assisted by various friends and family. Unlike last year, runners didn’t have to deal with ice and snow, but there are unconfirmed rumours that there was a pit-stop at a local café! Again we’ll keep you informed of how much they raised as soon as we know.
